Secure Windows Installation 11 only through Microsoft Windows Insider. Information received, that many third-party installers of the new version of Windows OS contain malware.
According to Kaspersky, the malicious installer is labeled 86307_windows 11 build 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe. Its size is 1,75 GB, so at first glance it may seem like an official setup file. However, it is not.
Actually it’s not Windows 11. It asks for permission to upload a file, which appears as a Windows download manager 11 with license agreement, to install additional software from Microsoft. Users, who accept the agreement, end up installing various malware on your PC.
These programs can vary – from relatively harmless adware, which our solutions classify as non-viruses, to full trojans, password stealing software, exploits and other nasty things.
Warns Kaspersky
As it was said before, it’s not the only malicious installer. While it may seem obvious to some not to boot into Windows 11 from third party sources, the assembly leak was the only way for curious people to look at the future OS before, how it became available in the Windows Insider program.
As a result, do not be fooled by downloading a new operating system from third-party sources, even “merged into the network”. Secure Windows Installation 11 only possible through Microsoft Windows Insider.
